Meeting

Step 1:

New to xyzABA? Let's chat.

We are currently onboarding new clients and conducting initial assessments. Let's chat today about what we have to offer and if the services we provide will fit your child's needs. Click the chat button on the bottom right to start a conversation today.

Step 2:

Insurance Verification

In order to initiate the onboarding process, our team will need a copy of your driver’s license and insurance card to begin the insurance verification process. This will allow us to confirm your ABA coverage benefits and review your estimate of cost (EOC) of services with you. Click the link below to fill out the insurance verification form and request a virtual initial-consultation with the BCBA.

Initial Consultation & Intake Documents

Once we have confirmation that ABA services are covered by your provider, we will contact you to confirm a meeting date & time for the virtual initial consultation. The initial consultation will give us a better idea of your child's history, skills, and behaviors, as well as your priorities for therapy. You will receive a meeting link in your email as well as the intake packet to be completed prior to the initial consultation. In order to expedite the process, please ensure you have your child’s autism diagnostic report and prescription for ABA therapy readily available.

Step 4:

Initial Assessment

An initial assessment will be scheduled during the initial consultation. During the initial assessment, the BCBA and COM will travel to the home and complete a skills assessment with your child that can range anywhere between 1-4 hours. Once the assessment is complete, the BCBA will begin treatment-planning and writing up a comprehensive report outlining your child's current skills/deficits, proposed skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction goals, caregiver training initiatives and clinical recommendations for treatment. This will be reviewed with you following a 1-2 week period during the summary meeting.

Step 5:

Summary Meeting

The treatment report will be reviewed with you and any changes or modifications needed will be made. We will discuss hours recommended as well as a proposed daily schedule. We will then submit the treatment report to your insurance company to request authorization of services. Once authorization is received, the BCBA will reach out to schedule your initial therapy session.

Step 6:

The First Session

The first ABA session is all about getting to know you, your home, and most importantly your child. To ensure that treatment is effective, we conduct a process called pairing. Pairing is where we begin to form a bond with you and your child through the use of reinforcers (preferred items and activities) that are already available. Our entire goal is to teach your child that we are the most fun person they’ve ever interacted with, and there’s nothing more fun than interacting with us. We will begin to identify how your child learns, and what keeps them motivated. Building a strong foundation helps increase cooperation and make the therapeutic process more successful as we begin to work on tasks that are more difficult.
